Why it matters
It ensures that we are held to a higher standard. It means that when you bring in your pet, they are receiving medical care that is commensurate with the best available in the industry. Because you deserve no less.

To become accredited, a veterinary hospital must undergo comprehensive evaluations from veterinary experts at AAHA on a regular basis. There are approximately 900 standards that these experts evaluate in order to ensure the practice is truly excellent in all facets.
AAHA accreditation is a voluntary process. The mission of AAHA is to certify nothing less than excellence in everything you do. That's why, out of over 40,000 veterinary practices in the US and Canada, fewer than 15% are AAHA accredited.
